Why is SecureFileX secure?
Each user of the system has a unique login and password. For enhanced security, users create their own passwords which are known only to them...not even our support personnel have the ability to view or determine a user's password. Secure TransmissionFiles are transmitted between the user's computer and our servers using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) encryption, ensuring that all data remains private. This same functionality is used by financial institutions and popular e-commerce services for secure transmission ("https://" in web address). 256-Bit EncryptionThe data itself is encrypted using the Advanced Encryption Standard with 256-bit keys. This is the same encryption standard used by U.S. government organizations, such as the National Security Agency, to ensure the data is unintelligible to unauthorized users. In addition, a separate encryption procedure is used while the data resides on our servers and backup media to guard against loss or theft. Physical SecurityThe SecureFileX servers are located in a facility that is managed by Windstream Hosted Solutions a trusted provider of secure and reliable data centers.
The state-of-the-art data center features the following security measures:
SAS 70 Type II CertificationWindstream Hosted Solutions has received a qualified, Type II SAS 70 certification, validating the accuracy and integrity of its managed services. Performed by an independent accounting firm, this audit is an internationally recognized and respected auditing standard attesting to the fact that there are sufficient process, controls and safeguards to keep your data safe from theft, corruption or mishandling. Unlike the Type I Certification which only measures a single point in time, Type II Certification measures and evaluates over a period of time.
